Gillette is a city in an the county seat of Campbell County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 19,646 at the 2000 census. Because Gillette is centrally located in an area that is vital to the development of vast quantities of American coal, oil, and coal bed methane gas, the city proudly calls itself the "Energy Capital of the Nation".
